Students who are pursuing a Field Studies program can have a portion of their Field Studies courses count towards their IDS program. See Adviser in office for details. Students interested in Management course options listed in the IDS program, must be aware of the credit limitations in place for Arts students taking courses outside of the Faculties of Arts and Science. To consult this policy: https://www.mcgill.ca/study/2020- 2021/faculties/arts/undergraduate/ug_arts_course_reqs NOTE: when registering for MGMT courses, priority is given to BCOMM students over Arts students. Wait, check back and try again, closer to beginning of term.
Common Questions for Minor/Major Q: Management & Econ Majors/Minors as well as IDS I cannot take ECON 208. What do I do? A: Students taking ECON 230D1/D2 or ECON 250D1/D2 (Honours ECON) or MGCR 293 are exempt from ECON 208. Students must replace these credits with an additional 3 credits from the introductory/thematic list. Q: The thematic courses I want to take have pre-reqs not listed in the program? A: Take pre-req if room, or ask permission of instructor to take course without pre-req. Q: I am having a hard time registering in MGCR/BUSA/MGPO Management courses? A: These courses are offered by the Faculty of Management and have enrolment limitations placed on how many non-MGMT students can get spots in the course. They lift restrictions at the end of the add/drop period.
