JSC Hurricane Plan We use standard Incident Command System protocols to manage storms (essentially a storm specific organization is formed) Level 5 (Jun-1 through Nov 30) Level 4 (expected impact to JSC within 72 hrs) Level 3 (expected impact to JSC within 48 hrs) Level 2 (expected impact within 36 hrs/ Center Closure) Level 1 (storm impact) Assessment Recovery

Levels 4 & 3 Preparation Begins Level 4/3 (expected impact to JSC within 72/48 hrs) Change in Center Level Notification (email) sent to Facility Managers and Emergency Preparedness Reps SMG Weather Alerts (email) sent to EPR/Senior Secretaries distributed down and out Updates to jscsos.com NWS briefings Hurricane Incident Management Team tagups CenterOps briefings to Senior Management Incident Action Plan (IAP) is published and distributed to Senior Staff and JLT

Level 2 Center Closure/Final Prep Level 2 (expected impact to JSC within 36 hrs) Center Closure Notice (Emergency Notification System (ENS) to all badged employees) Gate signs Emergency phone hotline updates Updates to jscsos.com JSC Today Center Closure Special Co-op Notification by Pathways Office to co-ops and mentors JLT telecom Press Release Tagups between Rideout team and Away team CenterOps briefings to Senior Managment

  4. Decisions and Risks Why Levels 4, 3, 2, 1 don t always work Concern to Prep . Weekend? Holidays? What are schools doing? Storm speed, size, and track? Prep to Closure Employees in mandatory evacuation zones Different personal needs, timeframes Recovery Safety Community services and infrastructure (site utilities, services, hospitals, gas etc.)
