  1. KENT CHILD CARE CRISIS RESPONSE TEAM ON MARCH 20, 2020 the Kent Child Care Crisis Response Team was formed in response to Governor Whitmer s COVID-19 Child Care Executive Order (2020-16) and the Stay at Home Executive Order (2020-21) that followed. First Steps Kent Update GSC Meeting 10.22.20

PURPOSE KENT CHILD CARE CRISIS RESPONSE TEAM Coordinate efforts and align activities in order to provide comprehensive service and support Kent County child care providers and Kent County families in need of child care. Meets every other Monday 3:00-4:30 PM (Virtually) First Steps Kent Update GSC Meeting 10.22.20

RESPONSE TEAM REPRESENTATIVES Local Child Care Provider Community (3 Child Care Home Business Owners and 1 Center Director) Kent ISD Early Learning Neighborhood Collaborative First Steps Kent Great Start to Quality Kent Resource Center KConnect Camp Fire West Michigan 4C Kent Shared Services Pilot Project Head Start for Kent County Talent 2025 Great Start Collaborative Kent County Health Department Refugee Education Center Bethany Christian Services Hands Connected LARA Regional Manager, and One Licensing Consultant First Steps Kent Update GSC Meeting 10.22.20

  6. Kent County recently awarded First Steps Kent $450,000 in federal CARES Act dollars to assist licensed child care providers meet the needs of new health and safety requirements. Additionally, First Steps Kent will provide technical assistance support.
