SUSI DO YOU KNOW? Who can apply for financial support to go to college or a PLC? How much money is available to you to pay for college registration fees /PLC fees? What is a maintenance( living costs ) grant? How far away from 3rd level college/PLC do you need to live to be given a non-adjacent grant? How & when do you apply for a grant? If you repeat a year in college can you apply for a SUSI grant?

ABOUT SUSI Student Universal Support Ireland 3rd level +PLC courses- (you make 1 application in April to SUSI don t worry if you are unsure where you will go to college /plc at this stage ) You are applying for a New grant 2020 You must Renew your SUSI grant each year. you will be applying as a Dependant student (class of student) SUSI-last year 110,000 applications for 2019/20 85,000 grants awarded 40% of college students have SUSI Grant Opened April 2019 for all Applications Closing Date: mid July 2019
Types of Grants and Payment Rates (Dependent on your Household Income) 3 types of Financial support available 1. Fee payment Grant: 3,000 Student Contribution / 200 PLC student You may get - 50% or 100% payment rates Paid directly to Colleges. 2. Maintenance Grant ( adjacent <45k from college): 1,215 adjacent/ 3,025 non-adjacent You may get -25%, 50%, 75%,100% payment rates Special rate: 2,375 adjacent/ 5,915 non-adjacent if income under 24000; Paid to student s bank a/c (9 monthly instalments from late Sept) 3. Compulsory Field Trip Expenses

KEEP IN TOUCH & APPLY EARLY!!! 1. Tick the SUSI option on your CAO form when it reopens in May so CAO can confirm your college place offer to SUSI. 2. Check out your grant eligibility NOW at www.susi.ie (all you need to know about grants). 3. Register +Apply online early - Applications open in April (early applications receive priority processing).

To apply to SUSI Parent/ parents/ guardian PPSN All 6 sections must be completed Application does not have to be completed in one go(15-20 mins). Remember to save application and only press submit when all sections are complete Supply supporting documentation Based on your information a checklist letter of supporting documents needed will be sent to you. Supply photocopies of original supporting docs It is important that you supply SUSI with all of the documentation that they request from you, correctly first time and on time. If you need more time then contact their support desk to let them know. A long form of birth cert Late submission of all docs will delay approval You can use the application tracker in your online account to check the progress of your submitted application at any stage. Application will be refused if documents not submitted. Complete on-line application
