
Mariners Guide to the Use of ENC Data in ECDIS - Draft S-67 Review Request
The 18th Data Quality Working Group (DQWG) meeting discussed the consolidation of standards to create the Mariners Guide to the Use of ENC Data in ECDIS and requested feedback on the new edition of S-67. The ENC Working Group (ENCWG) proposed a collaborative effort to review and edit the draft document before submission to HSSC.

18th Data Quality Working Group (DQWG18) Meeting S-67 Mariners Guide to use of ENC data in ECDIS Presented by Tom Mellor Chair of IHO ENC Standards Maintenance Working Group
BACKGROUND ENCWG and DQWG agreed to a joint submission regarding the future of S-67 be presented at HSSC 14 The paper sought HSSC approval to amalgamate of the following standards, and change the name of S-67 to Mariners Guide to use of ENC data in ECDIS S-66 Facts about Electronic Charts and Carriage Requirements Basic information for ECDIS users around ECDIS mandate and electronic charts ENC & RNC S-67 Mariners Guide to Accuracy of Depth Information in Electronic Navigational Charts (ENC) Detailed information regarding depth ENC and ECDIS Cyber Security Guidelines ENCWG information papers
NEW EDITION S-67 The ENCWG have now consolidated the documents into one unifying publication BUT no editing to rationalise the content or remove indexes etc has occurred.
ACTIONS REQUESTED FROM DQWG The ENCWG would like to propose DWQG form a subgroup to review the draft S-67 new edition and recommend edits to produce a first credible output for Mariners Planned schedule of work Feb - Review and recommend changes to draft S-67 document March Apply edits April Circulate final version to DQWG and ENCWG approval prior to submission to HSSC 15.
