  3. Networking Information Technology Information technology (IT) is a broad field that encompasses hardware, software, computer systems, and networks used to process and distribute data. Networking is a specific sub-field of IT that focuses on designing, securing, implementing, and managing data pathways through network devices like routers, switches, and firewalls. IT Covers a wide range of areas, including programming, security, web and software development, office phone systems, and technical business IT. Networking Involves designing, securing, implementing, and managing data pathways through network devices.

  4. Networking Information Technology Managing networking equipment What is data? How does Information Technology (IT) move data in our cyberspace. Data Packets (encapsulated) Medium - cable (Ethernet/Fiber) and wifi, Bluetooth

  5. Networking Equipment Cellular Phone Switch iPad Laptop Uninterruptible Power Supply (UPS) Router Server

  6. Networking Medium Twisted pair cable is a type of Ethernet cable used for local area networks.* Coaxial cable is a type of cable with an inner conductor surrounded by insulating layers. Fibre optic cable is a type of cable that transmits data as light signals over long distances.* Roll over cable is a type of cable with reversed pin connections, often used for console connections. Cross over cable is a type of Ethernet cable used to connect similar devices directly. Straight through cable is a type of Ethernet cable where pin connections are identical at both ends.

  7. Managing Network Equipment (data packets )

  8. Networking Information Technology Is networking a good career in IT? As technology advances, the need for highly trained network engineers only increases. Plus, with the rapid growth of cloud computing, internet of things (IoT) and 5G networks, network engineers are one of the most highly sought-after careers. https://cybertex.edu/why-network-engineering-remains-a-good-career- choice-in- 2024/#:~:text=As%20technology%20advances%2C%20the%20need,so ught%2Dafter%20careers%20in%202024.
