Update on activities 1st quarter 2018 UNCTAD undertook a Investment Policy Review (IPR) of Nigeria (2006-2009) UNCTAD fact finding mission was in Nigeria in March 2018 to follow-up on the recommendations in the 2009 Report Investment Policy Review Interacted with 17 State IPAs on investment climate improvement Involved in capacity building programme for newly appointed Nigerian foreign diplomats Meetings with the Public Sector A Summit aimed at promoting investment opportunities and match-making investors. Holding between 21 23 May, 2018 at Transcorp Hotel, Abuja Direct Investors Summit, Nigeria 2018 The iGuide Nigeria is being produced with the support of UNECA & UNCTAD It reflects government policies, new legislations, and other administrative issues relevant to investors and doing business in Nigeria. The launched is scheduled for 16 May 2018 Production of online Investors Guide Collaborated with FMFA, FMITI and NEPC to produce an electronic platform for business and skilled labour facilitation, and matchmaking as well as trade and investment promotion. The platform was launched on 05 April 2018 by HE, VP Yemi Osinbajo Nigerian Economic Diplomacy Initiative (NEDi) 1

Update on activities 1st quarter 2018 A total of US$12.2 billion worth of investment announced has been tracked in the 1st quarter of 2018 The investments were in 13 projects in 13 States Investment Tracking NICPS seeks to support States to promote, attract, document and manage investments The evaluation of the pilot States have been concluded: Ogun, Oyo and Osun Certificates to be awarded to the pilot States during DISN, 2018 National Investment Certification Programme for State (NICPS) Profiling of bankable and investment-ready projects to be marketed for possible investors interest The profiling form is on the NIPC website (www.nipc.gov.ng) Project Profiling The programme was designed to support and encourage DDI It focuses on the top 100 companies operating in the country the aim is to make the companies ambassadors of the Nigerian economy Strategic Investment After-care The redesign of investment promotion strategy (Country Focused Investment Promotion Strategy) is in progress The new strategy is hinged on targeted approach with focus on economies with high prospects to invest in Nigeria NIPC Investment Promotion Strategy 2
