The School Performance Score Every eligible K-12 school receives a School Performance Score (SPS) that is reported on a scale from zero to 150 and that measures how well schools perform on the following indices: 25% LEAP Test Scores 25% ACT/WorkKeys 25% Strength of Diploma 20% Cohort Graduation Rate 5% Interests & Opportunities OHS Score 2022 is a 68.2% - C OHS High School Assessment Index 53.6% - F OHS ACT Index 53.6% - D OHS Strength of Diploma Index (2021-2022) - 92 A OHS Cohort Graduation Rate (2021-2022) 84.9 B OHS High School Interests & Opportunities Index - 54

  3. LEAP Assessment Data 2022-2023 English I: 49% English II: 46% Algebra I: 21% Geometry: 28% Biology: 38% USH: 22%

Other Testing Data for 2023-2024 ACT Students who increased their test score: 107 of 137 (78%) ACT Scores of 18 and above: 33 of 137 (24%) WorkKeys scores contributing to SPS: Silver: 52 out of 103 (50%) Gold: 13 out of 103 (13%) Platinum: 2 out of 103 (.02%) AP-0 passing scores CLEP-19 of 70 (27%)

  5. SIP Plan and Goals The School Improvement Plan is a living document that is addresses the needs of the school, monitors Title I funds spending, and the goals of each core department. Strengths: multiple pathways for post-secondary opportunities; Counseling services for academic and emotional needs; competitive course offerings. Weaknesses: instructional strategies in Math and ELA to meet 21stcentury students; development of critical thinking skills; and increase strength of diploma Core Subject Goals: Each core subject area will increase their LEAP Scores by 5% from the 2023-2024 school year. Non-Core Academics Goal: Increase ACT composite scores to 18 or higher by state testing in March of 2024.

  6. Schools Parent and Family Engagement Policy Opelousas High School recognizes that parent and family engagement is the key to academic achievement. The term parent refers to any caregiver who assumes responsibility for nurturing and caring for children, including parents, grandparents, aunts, uncles, foster parents, step-parents, etc. Research indicates when parents and other key family members are involved in their children s education; the attitudes, behaviors and achievement of students are positively enhanced. In additions to the statements on the next slide, OHS will ensure that requirements for Title I guidelines will be meet, that the Parent s Right to Know letter will be sent out in a timely manner and Compacts outlining what elements will be provided by each stakeholder in the school.

  7. Schools Parent and Family Engagement Policy continued The school will: Disseminate the Parent and Family Engagement Handbook/Policy through meetings, parent/teacher organization/association meetings, and parent conferences. Highlight parent and family engagement activities through the media, through newsletters to parents at the district and school level, and through broadcasts on radio and television. Help parents develop parenting skills to meet the basic obligations of family life and foster conditions at home, which emphasize the importance of education and learning. Provide activities and partnerships that are designed to help reach schools improvement goals and objectives. Collaborate with the community and other, local, state and national agencies to offer services for students, parents and other family members. Have a written comprehensive parent and family engagement policy that will meet the needs of all students participating in the Title I program. Ensure that parents are involved in the development of school-wide and targeted assistance plans and decisions made about how to carry out Title I. Have an Action Team for school, family and community partnerships. The action team will take responsibility for assessing present practices, implementing selected activities, and coordinate practice for all Six-Types of Involvement. Hold periodic scheduled meetings at the school with teachers, administrators, and other staff to discuss the curriculum, standards and assessments or innovative strategies the school is using to improve learning.

  8. Parents Right to Know In accordance with the Every Student Succeeds Act of 2015, it is required that parents of a student attending a school that receives Title I funds be notified if their child is assigned to a teacher for four consecutive weeks who has not met all applicable state certification or licensure requirements at the grade level and subject area in which the teacher has been assigned. Letters will be sent out to parents by no later than September 30th. For the 2024-2025 School Year: Total number of teacher on Master Schedule: 52 Total number of teachers who are certified: 46 Total number of teacher who are not certified: 6 Total number of classrooms with full-time substitutes or split to other teachers: 2
