This partnership included a $20,000 donation to the club from OCB, and new-look jerseys for the Oregon SC Competitive and Academy teams. The new jerseys were designed through collaboration between the OSC Board and OCB, and highlight the enhanced partnership via an Oregon Community Bank logo on the front.

  7. Spring 2018: Coaching Updates Henry Aiyenero, who joined Oregon SC as Director of Coaching in August 2017, is no longer with the club. In February, after several lengthy discussions, it became clear that Henry s vision for the Director of Coaching role was not a good fit with Oregon SC s needs. We parted amicably; the Board thanked Henry for his efforts during his time with us and wished him well in the future. Dave Brown will be our lead competitive coach for Spring 2018, and has been integral as we have made plans for the upcoming season. Kyle Holford also is returning to the club, while David Troy and Peter Wright opted not to return. Ben Wainwright and Mike McAllister are our two new Challenger coaches, while we also have added a new local coach in Brandon Wachholz. We will be hiring two more coaches in the near future, who will be our Academy trainers.

  14. Looking Ahead Registration System Change WYSA s contract with LeagueOne ends following the Spring 2018 season, and they have chosen Demosphere as the replacement. Oregon SC s contract with LeagueOne runs through June 30. Working with WYSA and MAYSA on how to best manage the transition. Everyone will need to create a new account in Demosphere. Several Oregon SC Board members have had some training in Demosphere and the early impressions are positive. The MAYSA and WYSA spring schedules are being created in Demosphere.

  15. Looking Ahead New Volunteer Policy Have struggled to fill many volunteer positions over the past few years, from coaches to Fall Fury to Board. Approximately 30 or 40 volunteers are doing the vast majority of the work in a club with more than 900 players. Board decided to add volunteer requirements for all families with players Under-9 and older starting in the 2018-19 season. Families will be responsible for 4 hours of volunteering for each OSC player on Under-9 teams and older. Can opt out of 2 hours for $50 or opt out of all 4 hours for $100. Will be on the registration for 2018-19 season. Please remember that we would much rather see an increase in volunteers than to collect additional money from families.

  16. Looking Ahead: 2018-19 Process Once again there will be no tryouts for Oregon SC players currently playing in our U11-U19 Competitive program or our U10 Academy program. Our commitment to developing every player = a spot for the 2018-19 season. We have a responsibility to improve every player and allow them the opportunity to play with a club in their community. Players not currently part of our competitive program, both those in our Recreational program or playing with another club, who wish to look into joining Oregon SC competitive teams will have an opportunity to do so during evaluation weeks. Evaluations tentatively scheduled for May 14-18 for Under-11 through Under-15 players, dates TBA for high school-aged players.

  17. Looking Ahead: 2018-19 Offers 2018-19 offers to current Oregon SC competitive players will be sent out in early to mid-May. Exact dates to be determined, likely staggered by age groups.
