Budget Most of these can be accomplished at NO cost If Nurses are all attending a program afterschool look into the ability to compensate their time for a future PD Afternoon If Nurses are working above and beyond on these projects, investigate ways to get them financially compensated

Some examples include: Interface, Neighborhood Brigade, Rotary Club, Embrace a Family, Lions Club, Local Food Pantries, Shelter and Fuel Assistance, Council on Aging, Jeff s Place District Attorney or someone from their office DCF Professional DESE Safe Schools Presentation Doctoral Candidate on Health/Wellness or any Topic Related to the Students/Family Diabetes Clinical Specialist Epilepsy Foundation Professional LGBTQ Resource Nurse/Professional Local Politicians Mayor, School Committee, Board of Selectman, State Representatives Mental Health Professionals in the Schools Nutritionist from District or Framingham State Intern/Student OT/PT/Speech Professionals in the Schools PT Professional from Community- Ortho First Aide and Return to Play post ortho injury Police and Fire Departments SANE Nurse from your area School District Attorney SNAP or Health Office Presentation SPED Professional to educate nurses on students with learning/processing issues Substance Use Professional Substance Use MA Recovery Speakers/Rehab Team Building Exercises with Facilitator Technology Education from your IT Dept District Chief Financial Officer
Development/Production of Tools Afternoon of Productivity: Developing Posters, Slides, Letters, and Pitkocharts Create a Flash Mob or some creative manner to educate students/families and staff about a specific health/wellness topic Design a Research Project/Study Develop a fun fact to celebrate each month Develop a game for specific age level to teach about a health/wellness topic Develop, write and submit a grant Develop a Mentor Manual Develop a Per Diem Sub Book Work on the Team Goals, DDM s and PLC Meetings Develop a Mission Statement for the Nursing Department Develop or revise identified Policy and Procedures Review Templates in your software system- revise, consolidate and build prn Website Development Write and produce a video for a health/wellness educational purpose Establish a TWITTER account

Active Participation Nurse has opportunity to go shadow in another practice area Emergency Rooms Clinics PCP Offices Other School Nurse Clinics Work with Researcher on Project Read, review journal article and present to colleagues Attend a conference outside school hours
