SIDES Presentation
SIDES (State Information Data Exchange System) is a national internet-based exchange system where employers can receive and respond to unemployment insurance (UI) requests with nationally standardized questions. Larger businesses with established third-party administrators (TPA) can utilize E-Response, while smaller locally-owned employers like mom and pop shops can benefit from the efficient communication platform. SIDES facilitates timely responses, reduces appeals, ensures UI integrity, and is free for employers to use. Employers registering with SIDES can save on postage, streamline communication, and comply with the seven-day response requirements. The push for SIDES stems from a law change in October 2013, mandating employers to respond within seven days to minimize potential charges and enhance unemployment integrity.
