  1. we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the cosmic powers over this present darkness, against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand firm. Ephesians 6:13

  3. I. Satan will empower the Antichrist to bring him world-wide worship A. Satan s actions are rooted in an age-old conflict (Revelation 12) B. Satan will bring forth and empower a beast from the sea (verses 1-2)

  4. Satan and the Antichrist The Antichrist (the beast) in 13:1 one with ten horns and seven heads, with ten diadems on its horns Satan (the great red dragon) in 12:3 one with seven heads and ten horns, and on his heads seven diadems

  5. I. Satan will empower the Antichrist to bring him world-wide worship A. Satan s actions are rooted in an age-old conflict (Revelation 12) B. Satan will bring forth and empower a beast from the sea (verses 1-2) C. Satan will mimic the redeeming work of Christ with the apparent death and resurrection of his Antichrist (verses 3-4)

  6. II. God will temporarily allow the Antichrist to gain world-wide victory over His people A. God will give the Antichrist the authority and the means to blaspheme for 3 years (verses 5-6) B. God will permit the Antichrist to successfully wage war against His people (verse 7a) Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name s sake. Matthew 24:9

  7. II. God will temporarily allow the Antichrist to gain world-wide victory over His people A. God will give the Antichrist the authority and the means to blaspheme for 3 years (verses 5-6) B. God will permit the Antichrist to successfully wage war against His people (verse 7a) C. God will give the Antichrist authority over all the nations (verses 7b-8)

  8. Tribulation Saints in Heaven I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the witness they had borne. They cried out with a loud voice, O Sovereign Lord, holy and true, how long before you will judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth? Then they were each given a white robe and told to rest a little longer, until the number of their fellow servants and their brothers should be complete, who were to be killed as they themselves had been. Revelation 6:9-11

  9. III. God commands His people to faithfully endure this suffering (verses 9- 10) Verse 9 If anyone has an ear, he had better listen! (NET) Verse 10 Anyone who is destined for prison will be taken to prison. Anyone destined to die by the sword will die by the sword. This means that God s holy people must endure persecution patiently and remain faithful. (NLT)
