Work accomplished last week includes cable qualification samples completed, heat-treated samples in queue for testing, witness coil testing status, and upcoming strand procurement discussion with BOST. The MQXFA09 review for assembly planning with spare coil and AUP's risk management board meeting are also highlighted. Additionally, insights on PO 667037 Shipment B process shift evidence and recent FNAL/CERN exchange details are provided. Conductor audit findings and CTC 302 inefficiencies are mentioned with no significant impact on operations.

Being prepped for reaction. - 2 more to be received in the next ~ 10 days (1164,1165). Maybe 1172 Coil witness sample tests at Fermilab Completed - Witness coil 117,119,121,122,123,124,125,126,127,128,129,130,131 done - Witness coil 211,212,213,214,215,216,217,218,219,220,221,222 done In the queue for testing: - Witness coil 132,133,134 reference wire only, in the queue - Witness coil 223 2x reference wires debatable results, moving to extracted strands - Witness coil 224 received at Fermilab from BNL last week, in the queue Strand procurement - Meeting with BOST coming up this Friday - 665175 shipment F (replacement spool) in the works - 667037 shipment B partially approved for shipment - SHIP: Billets 642, 643, 655, 656, 658, 659, 663 - HOLD: Billets 657, 660, 661 You are here 2

  3. MQXFA09 review For MQXFA09 assembly (including a spare coil) AUP is planning to use QXFA coils: 129, 130, 216, 217 and 117. Coil 117 was approved for use in MQXFA05 [2] and is assumed approved for use in MQXFA09. All witness sample work completed at Fermilab. 3 3/5/2025 AUP Risk Management Board Meeting

  4. PO 667037 Shipment B shows solid evidence of process shift Quarantine NOTE: previous plots were produced with an error in counting billets 22 Mar: Process shift or test discrepancy? 08 Apr: Test discrepancy confirmed, shipment A approved 29 May: Shipment B data indicates process shift despite some recovery of test discrepancy Conductor audit - 22 Mar 2021 4

  5. FNAL/CERN exchange Shipped from FNAL. Received at CERN. 98,415 km 15 crates TOTAL ~140 km ~18 km 4 crates Feb-21 shipment A to CERN shipment B to CERN - B1 (LBNL to FNAL) - B2 (LBNL to FNAL) - B3 (LBNL to FNAL) - B4 (LBNL to FNAL) - B5 (LBNL to FNAL) Feb-21 Received and stored at FNAL. 5

  6. Inefficiencies by CTC 302.202x0001 LOE No impact other than what s resulting from schedule deferrals. 302.202M0002 Strand procurement No $ impact (fixed price). No schedule impact. Vendor classified as essential business, worked tirelessly through our shut down. No impact foreseen in current or next order. FY21 order placed on time despite COVID. 302.202x0003 Verification strand test Nothing other than deferrals. Activities to resume soon as FSU transitions to Phase II. Verification tests do not drive strand shipment, so no impact to CP even if deferrals drag on. 302.202x0004 Cable verification and witness sample preparation and testing No recurring on a per sample basis; nevertheless start/stop cost money and time. 6
