WENDWG has focused on WEND-100, developing guidelines for transition from S-57 to S-101. Implementation guidelines and ENC scheming guidelines discussed for smooth transition. Survey on HD ENC producers' plans conducted. INToGIS III development agreed using S-128.

WEND-100 WEND WG has held meetings by VTC since the last report and has largely focused on the WEND-100 Reached general consensus among members following the A-2 endorsement of WEND-100 (see Annex A for WEND-100 Principles) Agreed to develop guidelines to assist in the transition from S-57 to S- 101 IRCC13 VTC, 23 25 June, 2021
S-1xx Implementation Guidelines The WEND-100 Principles may not apply (entirely) to all S-1xx products Implementation Guidelines will determine how the WEND-100 principles are applied to each specification An Implementation Guidelines Drafting Team has been established to develop the application document aiming for completion by the end of December 2021, endorsement at WENDWG 12 IRCC13 VTC, 23 25 June, 2021
S-101 ENC Scheming Guidelines Aims to help ensure an orderly, efficient and cost effective transition from S-57 to S-101 Transition Team will form recommendations on the use and potential impacts of new grid-based schemes for instance vs keeping existing S-57 ENC schemes, acknowledging that, as there is no obvious one-to-one relationship between UB schemes (in S-57 world) and S-101 ENC schemes (different max. display scales), recommendations may differ from one charting region to another Will work with RHCs on establishing and coordinating S-101 ENC schemes IRCC13 VTC, 23 25 June, 2021
HD ENC Survey Following action IRCC 11/04, the WENDWG has developed a questionnaire for ENC producers to express their plans regarding HD ENCs. Note that the impending release of S-102 data increases the importance of understanding global plans Proposed questionnaire is provided as Annex B IRCC13 VTC, 23 25 June, 2021
INToGIS WG welcomed KHOA s proposal and agrees on the proposed way forward for the development of INToGIS III INToGIS III will use S-128 (Catalogue of Nautical Products) as much as possible to present S-1xx products and services coverage moving forward IRCC13 VTC, 23 25 June, 2021
S-100 Roadmap WENDWG Proposed Revision IRCC13-07D2 Revision suggests changing from beginning S-100 Principles to more detailed statement about what the principles aim to accomplish IRCC13 VTC, 23 25 June, 2021

Actions Requested of IRCC endorse the proposed IHO Resolution on WEND-100 in Annex A for submission to C-5 for endorsement (but IRCC can also decide to submit directly to the approval of the IHO MS as the changes made by WENDWG11, since endorsement by A2, are editorial only). approve the way forward for survey and questionnaire on HD ENCs proposed in Annex B and invite the IHO Secretariat to launch it. endorse the recommendations made in Doc. IRCC13-7D2 to be submitted to C-5 for approval, aiming to amend the Roadmap for the S-100 Implementation Decade. approve the proposed WENDWG Work Programme 2021-22 given in Annex C in general, and the 2 work items related to S-101 ENC Scheming Guidelines and S-xx Implementation Guidelines in particular.
