ADMISSIONS CRITERIA Must be in 11th or 12th grade 3.0 GPA on 4.0 scale Certain courses have specific criteria ENGL 1010: ACT E-18, ACT R-19 or A/Bs in High School English and History MATH 1010 or MATH 1710: ACT M-19 or A/Bs in High School Algebra II MATH 1530: ACT M-19, ACT E-18, ACT R-19 or A/Bs in High School English, History, and Algebra II CHEM 1010/1011: ACT M-19, ACT E-18, ACT R-19 or A/Bs in High School English, History, and Algebra II

APPLICATION PROCESS Complete the online Dual Enrollment application Have your parent submit the Parent Authorization Form Have your counselor submit the High School Recommendation Form and transcript Complete the TN Dual Enrollment Grant application Submit any ACT scores or transcripts from other colleges to APSU Admissions

COURSE OPTIONS 1000- and 2000-level courses Requires high levels of self-discipline, self- advocacy, written communication, reading comprehension, time management, and a high degree of comfort in learning new online systems (D2L, tutor.com, etc.) Taking courses on campus requires transportation and coordination with your school

ASSOCIATE DEGREE AND COLLABORATIVE STUDENTS Students can take classes to earn an Associate degree Student must earn 60 credits by following the course guidelines listed https://catalog.apsu.edu/preview_program.php?catoid=43&poid=10 895 Typically, students must begin taking an average of 10 credit hours a semester beginning the summer after their sophomore year

  10. TUITION Dual enrollment is not free, but it is offered as an extreme savings Tuition for dual enrollment courses is $171 per credit hour. Most classes are 3-credit hours, for a total of $513. A 4-credit hour course would cost $684. Traditional undergraduates pay $353 per credit hour, over $1,000 to take one 3 credit hour course. There is a 5% DE fee in addition to the course cost above. TN DUAL ENROLLMENT GRANT TN Dual Enrollment Grant is available for all TN residents Must meet grant deadline Must have lived in TN for at least a year Must maintain a cumulative college GPA of 2.00 Must be completed each year You get five courses free through dual enrollment spread out over your junior and senior year. That s up to 15 college credit hours FREE! Courses 6-10 are offered at a discounted rate of $100/credit hour

  12. TN DUAL ENROLLMENT GRANT Please Note: The grant only covers tuition costs. Students are responsible for paying other course fees, such as textbook fees.

PERMANENCE OF FINAL GRADES You are receiving high school credit AND college credit for dual enrollment courses Remember that the grade you receive will remain on your transcript and will be visible to any college or university. If you receive a C or below, you can retake the course to earn a better grade. *This does not apply to your high school transcript. Whatever grade you earn through Dual enrollment is on your high school transcript regardless if you retake the class. Put forth your best effort in your dual enrollment courses; the grade will not go away!

  14. MS. MARTINS NOTES Middle College students must choose Summer or Fall - If you are going to earn an Associates Degree, you MUST attend classes your 10th grade summer AND your 11th grade summer. You can also choose to just go during the school year only. You will not earn your Associates, but you will get lots of Dual classes. DO NOT fill out the application for Middle college yet. Students must meet with Ms. Martin to discuss middle college first. Ms. Martin will then give you the go ahead to fill out the application and the dual enrollment grant. If you choose to go in the Summer, then you will take Chemistry and Chemistry Lab this summer. This can be taken on the APSU campus or online. All middle college students will be transported by bus to the Innovation Academy for 1st and 2nd blocks for their Junior year and Senior year. 3rd and 4th block classes will be at ERHS. Jr. year Middle College Classes at APSU: Fall - Eng 1010, History 2010 & an elective online class. Spring Eng 1020, History 2020 & an elective online class. You will most likely take APSU 1000 the 1st 2 wks of August.
