  2. Background Social isolation is a problem affecting too many youth in our middle schools which often leads to bullying. We have been invited by a non-profit, Beyond Differences, to participate in an initiative to attempt to end social isolation by creating a culture where all students feel valued and accepted by their peers. This student-led lunchtime initiative encourages students to perform a single act of kindness of inviting all students to the lunch table so that No One Eats Alone. National No One Eats Alone Day will be February 12, 2016, and will be observed in all Dallas ISD middle schools. We are asking the Board of Trustees to endorse a resolution of support for this initiative. 2
