  4. What is Next Generation 9-1-1 Mission Critical Partners | 9-1-1 ACOG Board Meeting |4 Benefits of NG9-1-1 NG9-1-1 is a nationwide initiative aimed at updating the 9-1-1 service infrastructure to improve public safety emergency communications services in an ever- increasing mobile society. Standards based technology Enhanced location accuracy Improved system interoperability Expanded communications opportunities (multimedia, images, etc.) The standards-based internet protocol (IP) emergency communications infrastructure will enable voice and multimedia communications between a 9-1-1 caller and the public safety answering point (PSAP) and on to responders in the field. Improved/equal access for individuals Further security that protects against cyberattacks Added flexibility to support additional PSAPs during a large-scale emergency

  5. 9-1-1 ACOG NG9-1-1 Project Mission Critical Partners | 9-1-1 ACOG Board Meeting |5 ESInet & NGCS The transition to Next Generation 9-1-1 (NG9-1-1) requires 9-1-1 ACOG PSAPs to migrate from legacy, circuit-switched 9-1-1 systems to an Emergency Services IP network (ESInet) that supports Next Generation 9-1-1 Core Services (NGCS) call- routing functions. Once installed, the ESInet and NGCS will replace the legacy network, call-routing equipment, and call-handling equipment (CHE) that is reaching end-of-life. Call Handling Equipment

  6. 9-1-1 ACOG Procurement Process Mission Critical Partners | 9-1-1 ACOG Board Meeting |6 9-1-1 ACOG is working to bring NG9-1-1 to the 22 PSAPs and the citizens living and working in the 47 communities served in the region.
