In the SWAN Study, a comparison was made between patients switching from a PI-based regimen to ATV or ATV/r-containing regimens. The study aimed to assess virologic rebound rates and treatment outcomes in HIV-positive patients. Baseline characteristics, treatment failure, and patient disposition were analyzed. Results indicated a lower incidence of virologic rebound in patients on ATV compared to those on PIs. The study demonstrated the effectiveness of switching to ATV or ATV/r regimens in maintaining viral suppression in HIV patients.
