We have not so much as heard whether there is a Holy Spirit Acts 19:1-7 Much is now said about the Holy Spirit. Is it all sound? Does it all conform to what Scripture teaches? Are manmade ideas being presented as biblical doctrine on the Holy Spirit?
What Have You Heard about the Holy Spirit? Acts 19:1-7 Believers receive the Holy Spirit (v. 2). That is not the same as what they received through the hands of an apostle. When Paul laid hands on them they spoke with tongues and prophesied (v. 6). This was a miraculous outpouring.
What Have You Heard about the Holy Spirit? Acts 8:14-19 They had not received the miraculous outpouring of the Holy Spirit (v. 15). It came through the apostle s hands (v. 18). Now, there are no apostles (Acts 1:21-22). Today there is no longer a miraculous outpouring of the Holy Spirit.
What Have You Heard about the Holy Spirit? What Is the Holy Spirit? The Holy Spirit is God (John 4:24; Gen. 1:2). The Holy Spirit gave man life (Job 33:4) The Holy Spirit inspired Scripture (2 Pet. 1:19-21; 2 Sam. 23:2). The Holy Spirit is one person of the triune God (Matt. 28:19; Luke 22:42; John 16:13).

What Have You Heard about the Holy Spirit? What Is Receiving the Holy Spirit? John 7:37-39; 4:7-14; 6:53-63 Receiving the words of God is receiving the Spirit of God. All persons of the Godhead dwell in believers (John 14:15-18, 23; Eph. 3:17). Walking in the spirit (Rom. 8:5, 9-11)
What Have You Heard about the Holy Spirit? Have You Heard Emotion and excitement is the Holy Spirit? That s not what the Bible teaches (1 Kings 18:21; Rom. 14:17). Feelings are the Holy Spirit leading you? That s not what the Bible teaches (Ezek. 13:3; 1 Cor. 2:13).
What Have You Heard about the Holy Spirit? Have You Heard The Holy Spirit must help us to be able to understand the Bible? That s not what the Bible teaches (Rom. 10:17; Eph. 3:4; Acts 2:37-41). No direct operation quenches the Spirit? That s not what the Bible teaches (Acts 8:14-19).
