What You Need to Do: What You Need to Do: 1. Identify your CTE/Career Ed team. 2. Assign roles and responsibilities. 3. Assign a role(s) to attend the WISE User Group and CTE Data & Accountability webcasts. 4. Read the CTE and Career Education Data WISE Guide, each year. 5. Work with CTE teachers, who create career pathways, to record Roster Work Plan. 6. Setup the student information system to record data elements. 7. Identify CTE Concentrators before June 30th, each year. 8. Submit CTE Graduate Concentrator Follow-Up Survey by June 30th, each year. 9. Check WISEdata Portal exports and WISEdash for District to ensure data is accurate.

Definitions of Very Useful Terms Definitions of Very Useful Terms (1 of 3) (1 of 3) CTE Concentrator - A secondary student in grades 11 or 12 who has completed (passed) a minimum of two CTE courses in a single career pathway throughout their high school career. CTE Concentrator Graduate A CTE concentrator who has graduated from high school with a regular high school diploma. CTE Department/Program Areas Type 6 CTE Departments CTE Participant - A student is a CTE participant in grades 9-12 if the student was enrolled in one or more CTE courses in the reporting year and completed (passed) at least one CTE course.

All courses are associated with an identifying code. Dual Enrollment 9 program names associated with dual enrollment courses at each district. Student is enrolled at the high school and college at the same time. Work-based Learning 8 program names that describe work-based learning (WBL) at each district.

Definitions of Very Useful Terms Definitions of Very Useful Terms (3 of 3) (3 of 3) Instructional Area Codes (IAC) - Districts create career pathways through the Perkins grant and regional career pathway work. IAC codes are used to represent a career pathway and determine non-traditional field gender. Industry-Recognized Credentials - certifications, credentials, or licenses that are vetted by employers and serve to recognize skill attainment needed for recruitment, screening, hiring, retention, advancement, or to mitigate workforce shortages. The IRC is endorsed by a nationally recognized trade association or an organization in a particular industry. An IRC is a verification of a students qualification or competence through a technical education program.

Career Pathway: Career Pathway: Guidance for Concentrators Guidance for Concentrators Career Pathway A series of connected career and technical education and training opportunities that move seamlessly into a postsecondary option for a specific career area. A sequence of career and technical education courses (minimum 2+ CTE courses) Opportunities to earn industry-recognized credentials Work-based learning experiences Dual enrollment opportunities Career and technical student organization-related activities
