PROJECT PRESENTATION: TRIVANDRUM ZONE Date: 17/08/2020 , 18/08/2020 Venue: Google Meet Beneficiaries: The NSS volunteers of different colleges from Trivandrum zone. Outcomes: The Trivandrum zone project presentation meeting was coordinated by the volunteers of unit 230 of MBCET. The solutions for different problems were discussed and it was really beneficial for us to plan the upcoming events effectively. Highlights: Twenty five projects were presented during the meeting. The state level convener of NSS and the program coordinator of Trivandrum region appreciated the efforts of volunteers during the inaugural function. There was an active participation of all the volunteers throughout the session.
NSS BLOOD CELL: DUTY DAYS Date: 23/08/2020, 06/09/2020 Venue: Trivandrum (Assigned duties were completed online) Beneficiaries: The volunteers of NSS unit 230 and the donors, the patients and others related to this life saving mission. Outcomes: The volunteers grouped earlier based on their respective blood groups in the first duty day were maintained as such. Different cases were assigned to us in the morning. The given cases were verified by contacting the bystanders. Due to the prevailing fast spread of the pandemic in Trivandrum, the task for finding and convincing the donors was not an easy task. Highlights: Before 11:30am the contacts of 5 donors from different places were sent to the NSS blood cell on both the days. By the end of the day, the given cases were closed. The awareness regarding safe donation of blood during the pandemic was also given for the willing donors. All the volunteers participated with great enthusiasm.
TEACHERS DAY Date: 05/09/2020 Venue: Online Beneficiaries: The volunteers of NSS unit 230 of Mar Baselios College Of Engineering And Technology, Trivandrum. Outcomes: The volunteers of unit 230 took this opportunity to thank all the teachers for their valuable efforts and guidance and for being with us in the journey of our growth. Highlights: The day was celebrated by sending posters and wishes to all our teachers on the day of remembrance of Dr S Radhakrishnan. Awareness was also spread regarding the importance of giving respect to teachers and elders.
International Literacy Day Date:- 8/9/2020 Venue:- Online platform Beneficiaries:- The volunteers of NSS UNIT 230 Outcomes:- The volunteers came about to know about the importance of the day. Highlights:-The NSS unit230 has celebrated International Literacy day. The importance of the day was spread through online platform. With literacy and knowledge, one can remove the darkness in mind and enlighten it for a bright future.
Lights Out Date:-12/9/2020 Venue:- Online platform Beneficiaries:-The volunteers of NSS unit 230 Outcomes:- Energy audit was conducted to know the household energy consumption. Highlights:- The NSS unit 230 has conducted an online survey on household energy consumption. The details where collected on Google forms. The volunteers of unit 230 has collected the details from their house and neighborhood and updated it on Google form,
THINK OUT: ENGINEERS DAY Date: 15/09/2020 Venue: Online Beneficiaries: The volunteers of unit 230 of NSS of MBCET, Trivandrum. Outcomes: A problem solving event Think Out was organised by the volunteers of NSS, MBCET. The objective of the program was to make the students improve their critical and creative thinking, thereby, making use their potential for the well being of the society. Highlights: Some socially relevant issues were given as problem statements and the ideas for solution was collected. There was an active participation in this event conducted on the occasion of Engineer s Day.
