Epidemiology of Anaemia Paediatric problem worldwide Women of child-bearing age Overtaken by men in old age 10% > 65 y, 20% > 85 y, 50% in nursing homes Rule of thirds in elderly Haematinics, CKD/ACD, Other (inc MDS) 50% of WBS components go to those > 70 y
