  1. KNOWING GODS REDEMPTIVE STORY REVELATION: CONSUMMATION OF REDEMPTION

  2. THINK ABOUT THIS Where do you place your ultimate hope?

  3. What is a similarity between a good story ending (e.g. Disney) and the story of Revelation? Discuss

  4. 1. WHEN AND HOW IS CHRIST COMING BACK?

  5. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18 13 We do not want you to be uninformed, brothers and sisters, concerning those who are asleep, so that you will not grieve like the rest, who have no hope.

  6. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, in the same way, through Jesus, God will bring with him those who have fallen asleep.

  7. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18 15 For we say this to you by a word from the Lord: We who are still alive at the Lord s coming will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep.

  8. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18 16 For the Lord himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the archangel s voice, and with the trumpet of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first.

  9. 1 THESSALONIANS 4:13-18 17 Then we who are still alive, who are left, will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air, and so we will always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

  10. Jesus is returning. Are you encouraged or discouraged at that thought? Why or why not? Discuss

  11. What actions should we be taking as we are on alert and watching? Discuss

  12. 2. CURTAIN DRAWN, BACKSTAGE REVEALED.

  13. REVELATION 12: 1-6 1A great sign appeared in heaven: a woman clothed with the sun, with the moon under her feet and a crown of twelve stars on her head. 2 She was pregnant and cried out in labor and agony as she was about to give birth.

  14. REVELATION 12: 1-6 3 Then another sign appeared in heaven: There was a great fiery red dragon having seven heads and ten horns, and on its heads were seven crowns.

  15. REVELATION 12: 1-6 4 Its tail swept away a third of the stars in heaven and hurled them to the earth. And the dragon stood in front of the woman who was about to give birth, so that when she did give birth it might devour her child.

  16. REVELATION 12: 1-6 5 She gave birth to a Son, a male who is going to rule all nations with an iron rod. Her child was caught up to God and to his throne.

  17. REVELATION 12: 1-6 6 The woman fled into the wilderness, where she had a place prepared by God, to be nourished there for 1,260 days.

  18. REVELATION 12: 7-12 7Then war broke out in heaven: Michaeland his angels fought against the dragon. The dragon and his angels also fought,8but he could not prevail, and there was no place for them in heaven any longer.

  19. REVELATION 12: 7-12 9So the great dragon was thrown out the ancient serpent, who is called the devil and Satan, the one who deceives the whole world. He was thrown to earth, and his angels with him.

  20. REVELATION 12: 7-12 10Then I heard a loud voice in heaven say, The salvation and the power and the kingdom of our God and the authority of his Christ have now come, because the accuserof our brothers and sisters, who accuses them before our God day and night, has been thrown down.

  21. REVELATION 12: 7-12 11They conquered him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony; for they did not love their lives to the point of death.

  22. REVELATION 12: 7-12 12Therefore rejoice, you heavens, and you who dwell in them! Woe to the earth and the sea, because the devil has come down to you with great fury, because he knows his time is short.

  23. REVELATION 12: 13-18 13When the dragon saw that he had been thrown down to the earth, he persecuted the woman who had given birth to the male child.

  24. REVELATION 12: 13-18 14The woman was given two wings of a great eagle,so that she could fly from the serpent s presence to her place in the wilderness, where she was nourished for a time, times, and half a time.

  25. REVELATION 12: 13-18 15From his mouth the serpent spewed water like a river flowing after the woman, to sweep her away with a flood.

  26. REVELATION 12: 13-18 16But the earth helped the woman. The earth opened its mouth and swallowed up the river that the dragon had spewed from his mouth.

  27. REVELATION 12: 13-18 17So the dragon was furious with the woman and went off to wage war against the rest of her offspring those who keep the commands of God and hold firmly to the testimony about Jesus.18The dragon stood on the sand of the sea.

  28. How does it make you feel that Satan is already defeated? He can t even accuse you before God! Discuss

  29. 3. GOD IS OUR TREASURE.

  30. REVELATION 21:1-5 1 Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; for the first heaven and the first earth had passed away, and the sea was no more. 2 I also saw the holy city, the new Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven from God, prepared like a bride adorned for her husband.

  31. REVELATION 21:1-5 3 Then I heard a loud voice from the throne: Look, God s dwelling is with humanity, and he will live with them. They will be his peoples, and God himself will be with them and will be their God.

  32. REVELATION 21:1-5 4 He will wipe away every tear from their eyes. Death will be no more; grief, crying, and pain will be no more, because the previous things have passed away.

  33. REVELATION 21:1-5 5 Then the one seated on the throne said, Look, I am making everything new. He also said, Write, because these words are faithful and true.
