Secretary Generals Remarks 2020/21 Another extraordinary year! As members of the Scottish Guild of Servers we still feel the impact of the limitation to our calling to serve at the altar during public worship. Fellowship has been limited but we have adapted.
Secretary Generals Remarks The work continued 2020 AGM took place over ZOOM followed by the Rosary Regular council meetings continued. New website was completed and is now live. Action plan work continued and a new plan will be compiled.
Secretary Generals Remarks- Christmas Tide Photograph Competition
Membership Update Membership Applications were down this year. The explanation for this small number is the continued effects of the pandemic The Guild welcomed 2 new members throughout the year from St John s, Selkirk and one at St Paul s Cathedral, Dundee 3 new member welcomed today from St Michael and All Saints, Edinburgh and St Margaret of Scotland, Newlands Membership records have now been compiled and have been transferred to a digital format. This will make communication mush easier and ensure we are compliant with GDPR.
Action Plan 2020/21 SGS Action Plan Progress 2021
Action Plan 2020/21 The communication website set up with the help of Petko Marinov, Digital Missioner, Diocese of Glasgow and Galloway has now been completed. Information about SGS activities is posted regularly on Facebook. The conversion of the existing SGS paper records to a digital format is almost complete. A successful Christmas Tide art competition was organised by Bro Ross Stirling. Training material to support servers continues to be produced and all will shortly feature on the website. The server training session which was postponed last year will take place in the spring of 2022. A very successful SGS Retreat led by Bro Ross Stirling and Rev Sarah Shaw was held on 10 July, 2021. Praying the Rosary led by Rev Sarah Shaw is planned for October, 2021.
