  2. Introduction The following slides will go over helpful tips and issues that a user may run into when generating the final calibration file. Remember that there must be at least two temperature sweep data collections done before being able to correctly generate a calibration file. 2

  3. Max Brightness not achievable This error description mentions the input temperature which gives a hint the problem could be in the temperature sweep but the error can also show up in the unit sweeps. 3

  4. Max Brightness not achievable (Solution Part 1) First you can check the log of the calibration file where for each temperature, it will list target max nits. You can see that the first temperature at 25C, the max nits is greater than the target but the second temperature sweep the max nits is less than the target max nits and thus created this error. 4

  5. Max Brightness not achievable (Solution Part 2) Another helpful tip is to look at the settings page and see what the target max/min nits are and adjust them based on the coarse brightness range graphs. Additionally, a user can check the box to use the max/min available nits which will bypass the user input for target brightness nits. Note that changes done to target brightness nits or checking the boxes does NOT require recalibration. 5

  6. Unachievable backlight values This error occurs when the calibration algorithm cannot find a coarse combination to cover a certain brightness range. Anytime there is a discontinuity, double check the coarse brightness range for any holes. 6
