During puberty certain glands play a special role in the process of puberty. 1. Pituitary gland (master gland)- deep in the brain Controls growth and development 2. Gonads- testes and ovaries LH and FSH hormones regulate the gonads 3. ocated on top of the kidney Sex hormones that play a role in development
Human Sex Hormones- Females luteinizing hormone (LH) promotes ovulation of the egg and helps control the menstrual cycle follicle stimulating hormone (FSH) controls menstrual cycle and produces eggs Estrogen promotes development of female sexual characteristics.
